Ellie's 7th Month: 12.20.13 - 1.20.14

Could it really be 2014?  I feel like I should still be signing the tops of my pages with 1998...  Wow, I'm old.  Baby, this is the second calendar year of your life!  How exciting!  I'm sure it will be filled with LOTS of firsts though!  The first time you eat, crawl, walk and talk!  I am so anxious to see what this year has in store for you little lady!

Your 7th month was a difficult one.  You didn't want anything to do with sleep.  You wanted to constantly be held.  Your mama was tired!  BUT, she loved all the snuggling we did!  You also had your first case of the stomach flu -- you poor thing!

You also got your first TWO bottom teeth this month.  1st one (bottom right) came right before Christmas and your second (bottom left) came on 1.10.14!  I'm not gonna lie baby girl, teething SUCKS and, unfortunately for you, you have two more years of it!  I'll be right there with you with whatever remedies I can think of to help sooth your pain!

Something neat this month was you got to meet mommy's cousins from FL!  Jenny, Cara, Brandy, Nic and Aunt Alice loved making you smile!  Xo

Your 1st SNOW!

This month was also your FIRST CHRISTMAS!  YAY!

Before Christmas and Christmas Eve -- we did our annual Mexican Feast and went to Church with your Gma and Gpa -- then we opened your stockings and put on your Christmas PJ's and Gma read you The Night Before Christmas.

Opening presents Christmas morning -- you definitely liked the packaging more than the actual gift!  Santa was good to you!

Fun at grandma and grandpa house!

Ellie got to meet my cousins and celebrate her 1st New Years!!
1st pony, nap with daddy, 1st time avocado, 1st cart riding experience!

I want to crawl!  I love brother!  Smiley girl!

What is this springy thing sticking out of the wall?!?

Ellie's Likes:

Bath time with mommy and brother and daddy too
Nursing, although she wont stay latched for very long -- there is too much to see and do!
Bouncing -- only in times of necessity
Baby TV and Baby Einstein DVD's
Being worn -- must face out!
Being whistled to, sung to, and talked to, blown at, funny faces, etc

Watching Eli and Sammie and any other dog she might see
Looking in the mirror
Having someone blow on her tummy
Being thrown up in the air
How big is Ellie?  Soooooooooooooooooooo Big!
Watching mama flip her hair
Dance parties in the living room
Being tickled
Iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii'm gonna get you!
Peek-a-boo!  (Eli just says peek-boo, but she gets it!)

Ellie's Dislikes:

Car seat -- slowly getting better
Losing control of an object or toy
Mommy leaving her
Setting her down
Falling from sit

Ellie's 7 Month Milestones:

Sitting on her own all month long, really from the time she was 6 months
Go from laying to sitting
Gets into the crawling position and rocks back and forth

We are up anywhere from every 45 minutes to 1.5 hours.  Little girl just wants to be comforted to get back to sleep.  She is even having a harder time being set back down.  Dreading the sleep training but we can't keep this up...

This is what our bed looks like in the morning -- I've been kicked out by Eli, Ellie, Sammie and Elmo.
Breast Feeding:
Ellie is still exclusively breast fed.  She wants NOTHING to do with food, neither pureed nor little chuncks (BLW).  Her doctor was a little concerned about her slow weight gain but plenty of bfing 'been there done that' mamas were happy to share stories of their tiny babes and support me in my goal of continuing to EBF.  So thankful for their encouragement and for the knowledge of the lactation consultants I have come to know and admire.  I am the first person I ever saw breast feed -- I never saw any friends or family members breast feed so I am forever grateful of the support of strangers in this nursing journey.

Eli and Ellie: A Comparison

Looking at this picture of Eli makes me smile!!  He was so chubby -- wish little girl had a little bit of that!  They are both SO adorable!
At this age they both:
Were getting more and more used to the car seat but still didn't care for it much!
Love baths.
Love to chew on everything.
Terrible sleepers. Boo Hoo!
Are/were super CUTE!
Did NOT want mommy to leave them!
Could go from laying to sitting on their own.

They are different:
Eli crawled for the first time on his 7th month birthday.  Ellie will get into crawling position but she doesn't get anywhere quite yet.

Ellie has longer hair -- although they both sport the "mohawk".

Eli was much, much chubbier!

What I've learned...

Christmas with TWO is FUN!

Two is all we will ever have (unless God places adoption on our hearts) because Mike got "snipped" on the very last day of 2013.  It makes me sad because I always imagined having a larger family.  However, ---->

I am Extremely Blessed because...

The TWO God gave us are the most wonderful little human beings ever to be placed in my arms and, oh my, am I ever so lucky to call them my children!

Trying to get a picture of sweet girl is crazy!!!
